Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing some more of the behind the scenes, and “never seen before” images from Dotty Magazine Issue Three.
The featured Gothic Shoot received an amazing reaction when the magazine launched, but there were so many lovely images that we simply couldn’t fit them into one issue! The shoot brought together a creative collective of suppliers and designers and we were delighted with the results, captured by the ever fabulous Andrea Pennington Photographer.
The venue for the photo shoot was Lodge Park, which is situated within the Sherborne Estate. Lodge Park is a 17th Century grandstand, built by John Dutton. The building was restored in 1998 by the National Trust and is steeped in history and carries a mysterious ambience. It offered the perfect backdrop for the photo shoot, and the staff were extremely accommodating.
The styling of the model came together beautifully, with dresses created by Wilden Bride, “Ethereal and romantic, a style which is fashionably quirky and elegantly glamorous, inspired by bohemian and vintage design. Fabrics are encrusted with jewels, embroidered with vintage and re-worked lace, and beautifully hand-painted. Charlotte is able to make your bridal experience effortless and exciting.”
The beautiful hair and make up were brought together by Bella Bridal Hair by Sandie, and Samantha Davis Make Up. Both Sandie and Samantha captured the eerie vibe of the venue, and the model, Tiffany Wright, adopted two unique Gothic inspired looks.
Tiffany’s bridal look was accessorised with pieces from Posy & Pearl who offers ” a wide selection of beautiful hand crafted jewellery, using only the finest beads and materials. From lampwork glass beads, semi-precious stones, fresh water pearls, to Swarovski crystals. Each design is unique and can be personalised to suit your requirements.”
The gorgeous shoes on the shoot were provided by Marsha Hall, who offers bespoke, unique shoes for any occasion, including your wedding day. You can visit the Marsha Hall boutique in Surrey to discuss your individual requirements, and to find that very special pair of shoes to suit you.
We were so fortunate to provided with a breathtaking and striking cake by The Cake Chemists, who really pushed the boundaries with their creative design. Utilising black ruffles and a metallic finish, the cake was also complimented with bespoke chocolates and handmade macarons in coordinating colours.
The floral arrangements were created by Bramble and Wild, who are based in Frome, and describe themselves as a “floral emporium”. The pops of colour lifted the shoot, adding interest, intrigue, but were still very in-keeping with the overall aesthetic.
The entire shoot was coordinated by Kate, of Lavender and Linen, who utilised her own hire items and decorative accessories to style the table set up. Pieces were also supplied by Whitehouse Event Crockery, and the ghost chairs by Inspire Hire. The table settings were complimented by bespoke stationery design by White Hanami.
