Dotty Magazine Shoot Issue One – Behind the Scenes

I can hardly believe that the first edition of Dotty Magazine has been available to read for just over a month – time really does fly when you’re having fun! And considering the magazine has now been read online by just under 4,000 people, we’re guessing you liked it too?!

This was my first major shoot and I’d be lying if I said that the transition from Wedding Blogger to Magazine Editor hasn’t been a shock to the system! I think I probably underestimated the work involved in a bridal shoot, but I could have cried with joy when I saw the first edit come back from Andrea. In fact, on the evening of the magazine launch, I actually did cry – what a sap!

The team that collaborated on the first shoot – I honestly couldn’t have asked for more. From the amazing photography by Andrea Pennington, through to the magical moments captured on film by Craig, of Aroha Films. Our three lovely models – Hayley, Rachel and Danielle – kept smiling all day and really brought their A-Game to give us some superb imagery. And of course our little flower girl, Faith, was an absolute star!

Our make-up artist on the day, Sarah Bennett, and our hairdresser Keeleigh Remnant brought together some beautiful bridal looks, combined with gorgeous vintage dresses and handmade accessories. So this evening, I wanted to share some of our ‘Behind the Scenes’ images, to give you a little sneaky peek into the day we spent in the Luxulyan Valley.

It was a long old day in the woods, with three models to photograph in beautiful gowns and handmade veils from Annalise Harvey. We also had the pleasure of using some pieces from Sarah Drew, and Crown & Glory during the shoot too.

For the next edition of Dotty Magazine, which is due to launch in December, we’ve gone all out with three massive shoots to share with you all! The first took place a few weekends ago in Bath, and we have another two coming up in November. We want to go bigger and better, and more inspirational with every single edition. This is not just another wedding magazine!

Don’t forget, you can also enjoy this feature film by Aroha Films, for a real-life sense of our very first photo shoot. May it be the first of many!
