Hello Lovely Dotty Readers… It’s been a while!
We’ve taken a bit of an unofficial break from the blog for the past week or so; after the launch of Dotty Magazine, we wanted to have a little rest, recharge the batteries, and then getting back to blogging with a bang! We’ve got tonnes of beautiful content coming your way over the coming weeks. Issue Two of the magazine is already coming together nicely, and my goodness me, do we have have some amazing things planned for you!
I’m delighted to kickstart things on Dotty with an amazing real wedding, shot by our lovely Director of Photography, Andrea Pennington. The ceremony and reception were both held at the Carnmath Hotel in Newquay, with the beach images taken at Fistral Headland, where Andrea captured the gorgeous sunset on film.
What I love the most about Andrea’s style of photography is that the images feel like a work of art. They are natural, gentle, and this particular selection favours the black and white medium, “When you photograph people in colour, you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in black and white, you photograph their soul.” (Ted Grant). This is the best quote to describe these breathtaking photographs; you feel as though you were there, enjoying the day alongside the guests.
This wedding was also close to Andrea’s heart, as it is the second wedding that she has been involved with for the family. She explains, “They have been through so much together; happy times, and tragic times, and they’re very close because of them. I hope that I have managed to capture this bond that they all have in the collection that has been presented to them.”
She continues, “I can honestly say that this was a wedding I did with a lot of feeling… I just cried watching the final slideshow I sent them! Some weddings really remind you why you chose to photograph them in the first place.”
Andrea does have limited dates still available for 2014, but I would urge you to book as soon as you can! Don’t forget, Dotty Readers are eligible for 20% off ALL bespoke, tailored vintage and alternative wedding photography packages. You will receive an individual quote to suit your exact requirements, and although based in the South West, Andrea is happy to offer national coverage (travel expenses may apply). And, if you take a little look in Issue One of Dotty Magazine, on Page 25, you can find out how to *WIN* your Wedding Photography, with Andrea Pennington!
