We love a fabulous wedding story at Dotty so when we were approached by photographer Jessica from Jessica Hayman Photography to feature Emma and Chris’s wedding we were delighted to do so.
Emma, a PHD student, and Chris, a police officer, chose to get married on the 7th May and held their reception at the unique and wonderful Marwell Hotel. Built in 1989 with the architectural inspiration from the tree tops of Africa, it has a truly safari feel, with Oliver Bastian the hotels residential manager at the helm.
Emma really enjoyed planning the wedding and kept a dedicated folder where she kept a collection of pictures she had seen in magazines and notes from various suppliers. This allowed Emma to gather all of her inspiration in one location to refer to when needed. Emma’s biggest and most important tip is to be organised. She kept a separate spread sheet of everything needed and everything they bought, including cash deposits and payment data. This Emma says ‘kept the final weeks stress-free’.
Emma and Chris absolutely loved their day. The weather was wonderful which meant the guests could spend their time outside enjoying the grounds and dancing by nightfall under glorious chandeliers. The whole experience was just how they pictured it would be … although it zoomed by very quickly.
For the couple, the Church ceremony was the most important part, making it official in front of family and friends.
Emma chose to wear a beautiful vintage inspired dress by Hannah Elizabeth Bridal with exquisite dresses for her bridesmaids. Her thoughtfully yummy-looking cake made by Chalming Cake Design and delicate, beautiful flowers created by Bloom, Bloom.
The wonders of the day have been captured skilfully by Jessica and her team at Jessica Hayman Photography. She really has managed to encapsulate the wonder and magic of the day. A day that was perfect for Emma and Chris.
We wish the happy couple so much future happiness on their new adventure together from the Dotty team.
